My Favourite Spain Beaches ...
Nerja´s Carabeillo Beach!!
My favourite of all the Spain beaches has to be Nerja´s Carabeillo beach.
The back of the beach is lined with tropical palm trees and shrubs which extend all the way up to the street level which gives it a real tropical island feel .... you would never guess there was a whole town on the other side!
This photo was taken from the top of the stairs at street level looking down onto the beach.
The view from here is awesome! And it´s a great photo spot, so don´t forget your cameras!
Carabeillo is cosy but large enough for there to be room for everyone.
There are some big boulders on one side of the stretch of sand which is great for snorkeling.
There are no beach bars at Carabeillo, but there are a number of bars and cafes at street level, so don´t worry, you won´t go hungry.
Alternatively, you´ll find many bars and restaurants a short walk away at Burriana. Tip - to get to Burriana, just walk along the coastline heading in an easterly direction.
Getting There
If you are walking from town, you can access Carabeillo from Calle Hernando de Carabeo and will need to go down about 100 steps to get to the beach (the climb back up actually sounds worse than it feels!).
Alternatively you can access the beach on foot from Burriana Beach if you walk in a westerly direction.
If you're driving, park around Calle Hernando de Carabeo, although just be aware that you might find it difficult to find a parking spot around this area, particularly in the busy summer season in Spain.
