Due to its location the weather in Nerja is ideal all year round. Protected by the Sierra Almijara mountain range to one side and the warm mediterranean sea to the other means that Nerja has a unique micro-cimate which results in a year round mild climate.
When to Visit
Summer in Nerja is usually hot and sunny with pleasant warm evenings, ideal for leisurely walks around town or "al fresco" dining.Autumn, like Spring can be a good time to visit Nerja, if you don't like the very hot temperatures of summer, with warm average temperatures into October. Winter in Nerja is mild with mild minimum temperatures. Winter is the wettest season, with the highest rainfall falling between November and January. If you're looking for a sun and ski holiday this is an ideal time to visit as Nerja is only 2 hours drive from Granada where from around mid December you'll be able to ski in the
Sierra Nevada ski resort.
Spring in Nerja can be one of the best times to visit, particularly if you don't enjoy the hotter temperatures of the summer months, as average temperatures are warm and comfortable. Temperatures can drop at night time so it's recommended to take a light jacket for evenings. In early Spring you can still get some skiing in at the
Sierra Nevada
in Granada until around mid April.
